In today’s political and social climate Latino families are continuously under attack and underserved when it comes to community resources that may be available to them. These same families are also afraid to participate in, and request the assistance of, the various resources and aid that are available to them. This lack of participation and engagement from the Latino community comes at a price that unfortunately affects them at the socioeconomic level. LULAC Council #5238 is committed to ensuring Latino families proudly and unapologetically say “estoy presente” in their community.
The Civic Engagement committee is focused on initiating and continuing grassroots efforts for those marginalized and underprivileged communities of color to advance inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive programs that help achieve long term success and progress.
