Council 5238 has created permanent, long term and consistent social and educational coalitions by sharing ideas and resources, establishing collaboration, harmonizing communication, and putting effort forward to support a more culturally responsive environment for the education of Latinx students and the leadership representation of faculty in the state of Illinois.
ILCEL
ILCEL is a coalition of seven Latinx educational organizations that gather to provide a pipeline for future Latino Leaders to increase equity and diversity in the educational arena. The coalition advocates for parity and equal opportunities of Latino Leaders for leadership positions at all educational levels.
Advance Illinois
Advance Illinois believes all kids deserve a quality education. They are an independent policy and advocacy organization that works toward a healthy public education system that prepares students to achieve success in college, career and civic life. They are committed to an aligned education system that strives for equity, stresses college and career readiness and completion, and supports the whole child from the earliest years through adulthood.
Education Trust
The Education Trust is a fierce advocate for the high academic achievement of all students particularly those of color or living in poverty. Three major principles support the work: equity-driven, data-centered, and student-focused.
Illinois Higher Education Network
The Illinois Higher Education Network (IHEN) is a conglomerate of educational organizations, profit and not-for-profit, working together with current and aspiring students from across Illinois that are struggling to earn college degrees that are critical for their economic success. Their mission is to create a more equitable higher education system in Illinois by advancing policies that provide opportunities for all students to access and afford college, thrive once enrolled, graduate, and achieve quality postsecondary opportunities.
