The Higher Education Equity Committee supports Council 5238 efforts of advancing equity at all levels for Latinos in Illinois. The committee believes that equity in higher education: (a) must reflect the achievement, fairness, and opportunity for all Latinx community in education, and (b) must acknowledge all Latinx’s talents, skills, ideologies, races, ethnicities, religion, gender, political preferences, and cultural background to foster a culture of belonging, growth, learning, collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect.
